Camelina

New for 2012 Camelina sativa. Also known as false flax and can be used similarly for oil production. Grown in Europe for at least 3,000 years, where it is used as a cooking oil and salad dressing. Contains up to 45% Omega-3 fatty acids. In Poland there is a particular kind of camelina oil that is registered with the EU as a traditional specialty. Very high yielding for us from a spring planting, and we are experimenting with fall planting.
