Cauliflower, Leamington Winter Giant
Vigorous hardy plants produce large, potentially giant, tasty white heads in May after overwintering from a June or early July sowing. It fills the hunger gap. An old variety from Leamington Spa, England. Tom Peters was delighted that we saved this variety and he recommended it for hardiness and resilience under less-than-ideal growing conditions, which is almost everywhere for cauliflower. Nearly extinct. Luckily it survived after sprouting from a 15 year old seed packet of "Johnson's 'Long Life' Seeds", found at Heritage Seed Library in England.
1/2 g packet ≈ 150 seeds.
