Surprise Sampler Seed Garlic (Organic)
Softneck and Hardneck types
Can’t decide which variety to grow? Have limited garden space and would prefer smaller quantities of multiple types? Well, this is the option for you! Some hardneck, some softneck. Each 1/2 lb bag includes an assortment of 3-5 bulbs. 1 lb bags include up to 8 bulbs, and we promise to do our best to make sure no two bulbs are the same. A good way to get to know a few different varieties and flavor profiles in one growing season. Each bulb is labeled with the variety name and the bag includes labels with a short description for each variety included.
Specific varieties included in the Surprise Sampler are subject to availability, but all are certified organic.
Minimum bulb size in the Surprise Sampler is 1.75″ across. Average 7-9 bulbs per pound.
No international orders.
Please note Garlic and Shallots will begin shipping the week of September 18, 2023.
Separate cloves but do not peel. Plant each clove 2” deep, blunt end down, from October through February. Space plants 6-8” apart in rows 1’ apart. Apply extra fertilizer in March.
Harvest bulbs in mid-July, when roughly 1⁄2 of the leaves are still green. Brush soil off of roots and hang in well-ventilated, shady spot to cure.

Where did you grow this variety? Oregon
This review is premature but I just received my sampler and all three of the bulbs are noticeably larger than garlic bulbs I’ve purchased from other seed companies. I guess that’s because there are 3 bulbs instead of 4 or 5, but this means larger bulbs, which I’ve been struggling to produce in my home garden. Three varieties and all labeled as promised. I’ll try to update after harvest.
