Daisy, Giant Shasta (Organic)

Leucanthemum x superbum. Perennial in zones 5-9.

Classic, 3-4” white petaled flowers atop tall plants. Blooms throughout the summer if deadheaded regularly. Long stems on 3′ plants make Giant Shasta Daisy a great cut flower. If sown early in spring, this perennial will bloom in its first year. This variety was bred by plant genius Luther Burbank and released in 1890. We would like to thank Restoration Seeds for introducing us to this beauty.

Seed Saving

Collect seeds from seed heads that are fully dry. Thresh by hand, winnow to clean. Finish air-drying if necessary before sealing in airtight container. For pure seed, this insect-pollinated flower needs isolation from other varieties of the same species by 1⁄4 mile.
