Bush Snap Bean, Hildora (Organic)
Phaseolus vulgaris. Yellow Pods. 60 days.
Another tasty wax bean that thrives in our climate. A deep yellow productive wax bean great for fresh market producers and gardeners alike. The medium-long pods are sweet and crunchy with mid-to-early maturity. Similar to its green cousin, Marona, Hildora is a workhorse market farm variety. High resistance to bean common mosaic virus. Our original seed came from a 2006 seed swap in England. Bred by Hild, a German seed company.

Direct sow 1″ deep beginning early May in rows that are 1′ apart. Thin seedlings to 3-6″ spacing. Protect early sowings from frost. Succession sowing every 3 weeks through late June will ensure continual harvest. Shell seeds from fully dry pods by hand or by dancing on pods. Winnow to clean. Test for dryness with a hammer – dry beans shatter.
Seed Saving
Some cross-pollination may occur, but beans mostly self-pollinate.
