Tomato, White Tomesol (Organic)

$3.50$28.00

Solanum lycopersicum. White. 80 days. Indet.

White to light yellow fruit are flavorful for a white tomato – very tangy and sweet. Slightly flattened fruit are mostly in the 3 oz range, but some reach 8 oz. Produces better than other heirlooms late into the season. We find White Tomesol to be more forgiving of difficult growing conditions than other white tomato types that we’ve grown. If you have struggled with white beefsteaks in the past, we definitely recommend this one.

Sow indoors in flats with good potting soil as early as February, but no later than April. Keep warm and well-watered. Transplant seedlings into 4” pots when they have their first two true leaves. Transplant into the garden after danger of frost has past, typically late May in western Oregon.

Seed Saving

Collect seeds from ripe fruit. Place in a small jar and add 50% more water. Wait for mold to form. When seeds sink and gel-sac is gone, decant to clean and dry on windowsill.
