Blossom Shallot produces large classic shallots with a round bulb shape that is a nice variation from the other shallots we offer. Bulbs have tan skins with light pink interiors. The flavor can be described as sweet and mild for a shallot, with a rich alluring aroma when sliced or diced. Excellent for fresh eating and particularly well suited for adding a gourmet touch to just about anything, or simply adding a delightful kick to a salad dressing. A good choice for fried shallots or anything needing a little raw shallot magic. Dependably productive – often yielding 1 lb or more from each bulb planted. Little is known about its history other than decades ago it was distributed as “Pink Seeds Blüm” shallot.
Blossom Shallot bulb size is 1/2″ minimum diameter, up to 2″; 15-20 bulbs per pound.
