Hot Pepper, Peach Torch Habanero (Organic)
Capsicum chinense. Very Hot. 90-100 days.
Peach Torch is the third and final release from our habanero x Aji Limon project trilogy. It is a happy medium, both in appearance and heat-level, between the hotter Limón Lightning and the milder Orange Embers Habanero. Although not quite as hot as a traditional habanero, it still packs some intense heat, along with a special tropical aroma that makes it irresistible. So far our favorite use has been pickled with carrots or dried into a phenomenally flavorful pepper powder. When picked under-ripe they work great for Yucatán-style green habanero hot sauce. Compact bushes produce abundant yields of small, flame-shaped fruit that are a peachy-orange color when ripe. As with all of our peppers, Peach Torch has the ability to ripen outdoors in areas with relatively cool summers. It has also shown great seedling vigor when compared to other habanero varieties. The peach color is reminiscent of Sugar Rush Peach, but this pepper is a different species.

Sow indoors in flats with good potting soil as early as February, but no later than April. Keep warm and well-watered. Up pot seedlings into 4” pots when they have their first two true leaves. Transplant out into the garden after danger of frost has passed, typically late May in western Oregon.
Seed Saving
To save seed, wait until fruit is fully ripe. Remove seeds from fruit and dry. Isolate from other pepper varieties of the same species by at least 500 feet.
