Celosia, Magenta Forest Fire (Organic)
Celosia argentea var. plumosa. 60 days. Annual.
Deep magenta flame-like flower spikes are dynamic in the garden and make a nice addition to landscaping and mixed containers. Dark red-bronze leaves complement the flower heads to provide color contrast and texture all season long. Magenta Forest Fire’s vibrant color, strong stems, and abundant side shoots make it a great cutting variety for both fresh and dried bouquets. Easy to grow tender annual that loves the heat. We have selected this new variety from the classic Forest Fire (a bright-red variety) to bring out darker, more intense color tones.
Surface sow indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost for transplant after danger of frost has passed. Requires light to germinate. Prefers warm growing conditions; may also be direct sown once soil is warm in areas with a long growing season. Thin or transplant to 10″ spacing. Pinch growth tips when plants are 8″ tall to promote branching and more flowers.
Seed Saving
Collect seeds from seed heads that are fully dry. Thresh by hand or by dancing, winnow to clean. Finish air-drying if necessary before sealing in airtight container. Some cross-pollination may occur. Isolate from other varieties of same species by ¼ mile.

Where did you grow this variety? Southeastern US
This was an early bloomer for me and has not stopped blooming even with 100 degree temps in Georgia. I have another celosia varitety but it is a later blooming variety and I am still waiting for it to pop with color. Magenta Forest Fire is amazing for its beautiful leaf and flower, constant blooms, healthy appearance (no bug problems), heat tolerance, and early blooms.
