Long Bow Red Shallot Seed (Organic)
Allium cepa. 280 days (fall planted from bulbs as pictured).
Long Bow Red Shallot is a big, copper skinned shallot with purple-red flesh. Classic French type shallot with a more elongated shape when compared to most other varieties. While not as large as the similarly shaped Zebrune shallot or Cuisse de Poulet du Poitou, these are traditional shallots that are vegetatively propagated and not grown from true seed. The flavor is sharp and bright when raw, and richly complex when sautéed. Perfect for salad dressing, fried shallots, or any classic shallot recipe. Storage life is moderately long, lasting quite a while into the winter season.
Long Bow Red shallot bulb size is 1/2″ minimum, up to 2″; 18-22 bulbs per pound.
Seed grown by Adaptive Seeds and by Myrtle Creek Farm in collaboration with Garlicana in Myrtle Creek, Oregon.
No international orders.
Please note Garlic and Shallots will begin shipping the week of September 18, 2023.
